Linda Hoover Linda Hoover is a faculty member at the Parker School, where she teaches Music and Movement to kindergarten through fifth grade students. She has an undergraduate degree in special education from Ball State University in Indiana, and a master of science degree in curriculum and instruction from National Louis University in Chicago, Illinois. She has been a special education teacher in Illinois, Indiana, Texas and on Maui. Her thesis topic, "Music throughout the Curriculum," describes her philosophy of music education. As a music teacher, Linda enjoys teaching with Orff instruments, and she has written two school songs and a variety of original compositions for teaching. She particularly enjoys developing children's Christmas programs. On Maui, Linda taught over 800 students, from kindergarten through fifth grade, and she directed the chorus and hand-bell choir. Her students were honored to sing with the Maui Symphony Orchestra.
Before moving to the Big Island, Linda was a member of the Maui Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony Swing Band, the Maui Brass Ensemble, and the West Suburban Community Band in Illinois. She has also performed in a variety of productions, weddings, and even on an airplane jetway while she was a flight attendant! Linda lives with her family in Waimea, on the Big Island.
